Colony

How does music talk to itself? Each little part, trying to fit into the larger group, decides if it’s going to be an agitator or fall in line. Sometimes sounds create their own little groups to fit in with. Sometimes people do that, too.

Sonically, Colony is about mixing samples, altering wave forms and tweaking electronics. Most of these tracks are experiments with overlays - beats and textures treated as as pop hooks and groove. I like playing bits of audio like an instrument. Samples and recorded sounds become notes in compositions.

The cover is a blurred Martian sunset.
